3/8/2021 - [1 Corinthians 2:7 NIV]

No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. [1 Corinthians 2:7 NIV]

  - I keep running into statements from smart people who religiously believe that religions founded by ‘goat-herders’ are hopelessly filled with myths accepted by dull-witted people clutching onto their imaginary friend Jesus.

  - That’s OK.  When I see statements in the Bible like the verse above written by educated men who declared God’s wisdom in language barely grasped by today’s geniuses, I have to chuckle.  The advancements in human knowledge and philosophy cause today’s honest intellectuals to struggle with the very concept of time, like the contradictions raised by quantum mechanics and special relativity.  The more doors to the universe they open, the more questions they raise about the how and why of existence.  Time exists, but scientists have no way to determine or measure or test the concepts of ‘before time’ or Eternity.

  - Most people accept it as reality but are careful about talking about it.  There are things like Love and Joy that cannot be scientifically or philosophically defined or explained.  Yet those who are ‘Other Directed’ are placed into a category defined by today’s Psychology as a mental disorder and include risks for violence including ‘Manic excitement’, ‘Delusional thinking’, and ‘Hallucinations’.

  - God has in fact spoken directly to me a few times in my life at critical moments with words that comforted, challenged, and changed the course of my future.  I’m not too worried about admitting that and being diagnosed as delusional and being locked up… I would hope I would be seen as essentially harmless and not worth the time and expense of dealing with my ‘condition’.

  - I believe in God because I cannot not believe in God.
