Christmas Day 2020

 12/25/2020   Isaiah 9:6  [NIV]

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

- In the eyes of the world, Christianity is confusing with its worship of three Gods.  The word ‘trinity’ is a theological word not found in the scriptures.  Many Christians are hard-pressed to explain to themselves or others the concept of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; the three-in-one God Almighty [YHWH].  The Christmas story is magnificent and beautiful, yet unexplainable when considering a baby Son in a manger with a heavenly Father looking on and a Holy Spirit not yet fully introduced until the baptism of Jesus, and then only appearing to all humankind after the ascension of Jesus.

- The deep wisdom of God Almighty is far beyond the grasp of our intellectual capacity.  God  knows I’ve tried and failed to godsplain Him in babbling sermons and conversations with hostile critics, totally unconvinced by my well-researched theological zingers. Thankfully, God Almighty has lovingly and personally reassured me that I can climb down from my uncomfortable theological perch and just simply enjoy the silence of waiting for Him to show up in His own good time.

- The Bible is all we need to share with a world that is desperate for God to fill that void within that only God can fill.  Isaiah’s magnificent prophecy says it all, in words that declare what cannot be explained.  They will alert those who are ready to listen and eager to understand what cannot be grasped without the Holy Spirit alongside to bring to Life the mind of God within us.  Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel!
